After decades in the drywall and metal framing industry, David Chavez and Ryan Brewster saw too many projects fall apart because of poor communication, sloppy work, and lack of accountability. So in 2022, they decided to do something about it—and D&J Drywall was born.

Meet the Founders
Ryan Brewster
Co-Founder | Estimator & Project Manager
A fourth-generation drywaller, Ryan grew up in the trade. His father owned a drywall company and introduced him early to OST and Quick Bid estimating software—long before they were industry standards. Ryan has worked for some of Denver’s top drywall contractors, learning what it takes to run successful jobs and what to avoid.
After he became great at Estimating and Project Management, he figured out that lasting relationships are a major key to growing a business in the construction industry. One of the lasting friendships he made was with David Chavez. With like-mindedness and passion for perfection, the two were able to complete some incredible projects together. Once David & Ryan were ready, they reached out to their network and D&J was born.
He built D&J Drywall to create a company that values honesty, family, and follow-through. When he’s not managing bids and projects, you’ll find him hunting, fishing, golfing, or hitting the snow.
David Chavez
Co-Founder | Field Operations
David has been in the metal framing and drywall trade since he was 18 years old. He started his career in 1998 building Walmart Supercenters in Houston, Texas, before moving to Colorado to work with some of Denver’s largest drywall contractors.
In 2003, David took his skills to Las Vegas, joining major projects on the Strip and mastering the intricate framing and drywall details that define high-end commercial construction. Over the years, he became known for precision, leadership, and a relentless work ethic—traits sharpened during his decade as a proud member of the Carpenters Union.
After returning to Colorado in 2014, David spent nine years with a prominent drywall subcontractor, where he built a strong reputation for quality work and earned the trust of some of the top general contractors in the region. It was there that he met Ryan Brewster—working side-by-side on large-scale projects, developing a shared respect for each other’s approach, and eventually founding D&J Drywall.
Today, David leads the field with the same commitment he’s had since day one: build it right, stand behind it, and treat every project like your name’s on it.
David is a family man. He loves to spend time with his family. He always finds time to be at their events and be a supportive father. He likes to camp and ride ATV’s as much as possible.
